February 3, 2007

"Empty Heart, Loaded Gun", the debut album from RE:IGNITION — the San Francisco Bay Area band which features in its ranks SKINLAB members Steev Esquivel (guitar) and Snake (bass) — was the No. 1 most added release on the CMJ Loud chart this week, with 121 adds, and No. 2 most added on the FMQB Metal chart with 54 adds.

"Wow, what can I say other than we're excited as hell and stoked that radio is reacting so strong to the album," said Esquivel. "With so many killer bands on the scene today, we’re just stoked to be amongst the top of the pack."

RE:IGNITION is rounded out by vocalist Dave Moore (ex-MINDBENDER),guitarist Tim Howell (ex-FUELED, SACRILEGE B.C.) and drummer Mark Hernandez (ex-VIOLENCE). The band has recently completed filming a video for the track "Head On" with director Shawn Sparks (UNJUST, MACHINE HEAD). The clip is currently in post-production and will be released shortly.

"We shot the video for 'Head On' last week with Shawn Sparks in Oakland and things went great," said Esquivel. "We were able to capture some really cool footage. Shawn did a great job and has some cool ideas coming. We should be looking at some edits soon and wrapping it up shortly."

"Empty Heart Loaded Gun" was released in November via Corporate Punishment Records. The CD features guest appearances by guitarist Phil Demmel (MACHINE HEAD, ex-VIO-LENCE) and vocalist Brock Lindow (36 CRAZYFISTS).
